Wantable Makeup September 2014 UPDATED

UPDATE: I received my replacement item for the powder foundation that did not fit in with my preferences.

I got a Vincent Longo Lip and Cheek Gel Stain in this gorgeous deep purple shade. I really like it! The packaging is very sleek and the color is great.

I swatched in on my arm and my lips. The swatch on my arm lasted a full 24 hours though a shower and some serious sweating. The swatch on my lips lasted about 10 hours overnight. I couldn't get it off before bed!

I am very pleased with Wantable's customer service and this replacement item in particular!

ORIGINAL POST:

Wantable is a monthly subscription service that does makeup, accessories, and intimates. Each one is $36 a month for 4-5 pieces. The makeup is full-sized and is based on a pretty specific survey and they stick to your answers 100%. It's definitely on the pricier side of monthly subscription boxes, but it could be worth it for full-sized products that you know you want.

This is my second Wantable makeup box. I wasn't too happy about the last one and actually ended up returning 3 of the 4 items. I still had a $10 credit to my account, so I decided to go one more month and stop my subscription. Here are the details of this month's box!

Here are the preferences I checked for this box:

I have gotten so tired of getting eyeliners from beauty boxes (looking at you Ipsy!) and I am kind of picky about complexion products, brow products, and bronzer, so I didn't want to risk getting those items. Everything else, I was pretty open to receiving.

Here is the list of what is in the box:

Except...there seems to be some differences! Here is the opened box with all the items. As you can see, I did not receive the eyeshadow listed on the packing slip, bur rather I got a mineral foundation. This is not the first time that my box has not matched the packing slip and foundation falls under "complexion products", which I said I didn't want.

Anyway, here is the first item. The Spellbound Nail Lacquer is a Wantable exclusive product. I am always in favor of nail polish, and this looks like a very nice peachy-pink color. Can't wait to try it out!

Next up is the Vincent Longo lipstick lip stain. It says that the color I got was "Coral" but the name of the color is called Debue and it's a shimmery pink color. I really like the sleek packaging and I am always a fan of pink lip color! I'm interested to see how much it actually stains.

I also got a kabuki brush from Mica Cosmetics. This brand seems pretty popular in beauty boxes and I have been a fan so far. The brush is super soft. I do have a kabuki brush, but you can never have too many nice brushes, especially for blending.

Finally, we come to the mineral foundation from marsk in the color "Fawn". I mostly said I didn't want complexion products because last time I got a BB cream that turned orange on my face and I didn't trust my luck this time. However, I swatched this on my arm and also brushed some on my face and it seems to fit me pretty well. I am willing to try this out.

In conclusion, I am pretty happy about this box. I am annoyed that my preferences were not followed (never had this issue before!), but I am kind of ok with the foundation I received. I am going to consider whether to contact customer service and get this sorted out or just let it go and cancel my subscription as planned. I think it's generally a good deal for the four full-sized products, but it's just a little over my budget.
