<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and I hope it was a wonderful day surrounded by people you love! Of course I had to do a little something for the holidays on my nails, but was very limited by the supplies I brought with me to my parents house. So, just a simple little red and green manicure with some gold glitter did the trick!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a>Here is what I used for this manicure:<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Polishes: L'Oreal - Caught Red Handed</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sinful Colors - Exotic Green</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sephora by OPI - The Golden Age</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Tools: Triangle Makeup Sponge</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I forgot to bring both my base and top coat, so I simply did two coats of either the red L'Oreal polish or three coats of the green Sinful Colors polish to create the base. Then, I painted the gold glitter onto a triangle makeup sponge to concentrate it without having too much liquid and dabbed it onto the tips of my nails. I tried to go for a bit of a glitter gradient by applying more on the tips and less toward the center of the nail. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1-WnIaB-Wi8AFHOqt_NT3lAGNiVj5KYT0ZiKfXWmfFloe_RM94bZoPAmFXvitkPacaVxyRHx_nY0IsmEXA23aT2MbaJnOyiJvH39gSgvrwKK-wMFVQJVGeqqiGz_hkM_4G5Mm-_ZC7E9u/s1600/20151225_230910.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1-WnIaB-Wi8AFHOqt_NT3lAGNiVj5KYT0ZiKfXWmfFloe_RM94bZoPAmFXvitkPacaVxyRHx_nY0IsmEXA23aT2MbaJnOyiJvH39gSgvrwKK-wMFVQJVGeqqiGz_hkM_4G5Mm-_ZC7E9u/s320/20151225_230910.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The results were quite festive and sparkly! Happy holidays to all!</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm trying to get into the winter spirit here despite the lack of cold and snow. So, I decided to choose some nice blue colors to do a dotticure and top it with a light glitter reminiscent of a snow fall. These photos are from 3 days after application, so it's standing up pretty well, though it probably won't make it until Christmas.</div>
<a name='more'></a>Here is what I used for this manicure:<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Base Coat: Zoya Anchor</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Polishes: OPI - Gargantuan Green Grape</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Probelle - Into the Blue</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Maybelline Color Show - Blue Bombshell</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sally Girl - So Disco</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Top Coat: Seche Vite</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Tools: Medium Dotting Tool</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrUuXF-S2cd4hIjzUb4sHkbDJYCBaSTI9aHhcNIoS33bXDE1pclbQyyiwUAOxoyhtk-IVcivYElRe6ZbsHSs0t4M66O9JB3L4qR_zls1pBiuRdfSF7WY3yayOJ1Jundp8GjavU9YGrdtXp/s1600/20151222_003109.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrUuXF-S2cd4hIjzUb4sHkbDJYCBaSTI9aHhcNIoS33bXDE1pclbQyyiwUAOxoyhtk-IVcivYElRe6ZbsHSs0t4M66O9JB3L4qR_zls1pBiuRdfSF7WY3yayOJ1Jundp8GjavU9YGrdtXp/s320/20151222_003109.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I started with three coats of the OPI polish, which is called "Gargantuan Green Grape", but is more of a powdery blue color. Then, starting with the white Sinful Colors polish, I scattered dots around the top half of each nail. I repeated with the medium Probelle blue and the darker Color Show blue. I aimed to get a fairly uniform covering with some overlap among the dots. At the end, I topped with a coat of a very subtle glitter and a layer of top coat.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuRT-h5w4EDFk0UC2njIl5F-OALVCqHeyqTB0otBENC-D9DMPR_mdiki4B-amicXF9o08gMmr7XuEMKzQSOvtXJkX_KMKcv5D1O0ijfbcYOQt1YEI-OGuQcTmRSX1fCKLJIerBMGdZUTlI/s1600/20151222_003143.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuRT-h5w4EDFk0UC2njIl5F-OALVCqHeyqTB0otBENC-D9DMPR_mdiki4B-amicXF9o08gMmr7XuEMKzQSOvtXJkX_KMKcv5D1O0ijfbcYOQt1YEI-OGuQcTmRSX1fCKLJIerBMGdZUTlI/s320/20151222_003143.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My nails may be the most wintery thing around right now, but I am pretty happy with that scenario! I look forward to doing Christmas nails and then mostly leaving the winter themes behind in the hopes that the season won't last too long.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This week, I really wanted to try to get into the winter-y spirit, despite the weather still being in the upper 60s! So, I went with a really nice deep blue polish and a white fuzzy glitter that I have had for over a year but never tried. It reminds me of winter snow!</div>
<a name='more'></a>For this manicure, I used:<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Base Coat: Zoya Anchor</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Polishes: China Glaze - Frostbite</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Finger Paints - Frolic in the Snow</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Tools: Triangle Makeup Sponge</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Top Coat: Seche Vite</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDHpcP-6cC4s7BzRkmZfEihwhs7vSVTSUUmXS078dzapJcMG6aRxhqAXTFgPNgpNw5ghXmjX9YwQSyuAPuXwgYAtp2nFWj1kMI0IoaMKnAcxJr-7q7mmccqaZRWUIRRXQ1QEKtwuxfTJLa/s1600/20151211_225229.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDHpcP-6cC4s7BzRkmZfEihwhs7vSVTSUUmXS078dzapJcMG6aRxhqAXTFgPNgpNw5ghXmjX9YwQSyuAPuXwgYAtp2nFWj1kMI0IoaMKnAcxJr-7q7mmccqaZRWUIRRXQ1QEKtwuxfTJLa/s320/20151211_225229.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I started with two coats of the blue China Glaze polish, which is a gorgeous rich color on its own. To ensure an even coat of glitter without excessive polish, I painted the glitter onto a makeup sponge first, allowing the base of the glitter to get soaked up. Then, I sponged the glitter on over the blue polish.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU4Ak9c7H0ltPwHPqpsyYNNXk61taWnu3ecs1QHfb2ZX41Kbki4qGmq4P9q5rCZr6D4D12KArGjNYwzTfBMLcrSqlGvSzXZt2KSbLKL4U51Ld_tTxuwsSELnN7ddZVKP83T77nUf54COa7/s1600/20151211_225108.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU4Ak9c7H0ltPwHPqpsyYNNXk61taWnu3ecs1QHfb2ZX41Kbki4qGmq4P9q5rCZr6D4D12KArGjNYwzTfBMLcrSqlGvSzXZt2KSbLKL4U51Ld_tTxuwsSELnN7ddZVKP83T77nUf54COa7/s320/20151211_225108.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I have been really hesitant to try out the fuzzy glitter because I wasn't sure I would like it, but this color combination has really won me over. I think it's very festive and looks great especially from farther away. I look forward to doing more winter-themed manicures in the coming weeks!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I decided to depart from the 52 week challenge so that I could choose my own designs and do nail art on my own schedule (because things are so hectic!). Last week, I decided to do a simple nude polish, but then I wanted to dress it up with a little bit of hand placed sequin glitters.</div>
<a name='more'></a>Here is what I used for this manicure:<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Base Coat: Zoya Anchor</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Polish: Ciate - Dollface</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Top Coat: Seche Vite</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMo_qY-E1RH9LNM6wMfLKf2r6Ed44RzTeFujMK5njQm0id5gx5_JbwVlf91pgfz9iwFeb8DxRV6A8uE06MWHIDd7sjMbvQmt-UI4dTjDKq3K6iPzfVBlqHVEJl2WKNW9ElgohZu4KSRfgj/s1600/20151130_225745.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMo_qY-E1RH9LNM6wMfLKf2r6Ed44RzTeFujMK5njQm0id5gx5_JbwVlf91pgfz9iwFeb8DxRV6A8uE06MWHIDd7sjMbvQmt-UI4dTjDKq3K6iPzfVBlqHVEJl2WKNW9ElgohZu4KSRfgj/s320/20151130_225745.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I did three coats of the nude Ciate polish, which was necessary to make it entirely opaque. Then, while the third coat was still wet, I used a toothpick to pick up individual pieces of glitter and placed them in flower shapes on each nail. Then, I topped with a generous coat of Seche Vite. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOdva_PefFq69NQyVkdACL0VVb8_mAVJipD3SDqX1BHP3f1j7hZFUKPBOQE3GxPs_L8w7Qu-lPHF1diWBnQzmH5HCqBW0RQOMUUG8lrmDCiUZ4x_BStw5EXStu9GzYeDTBUSl_ZCE5XUmT/s1600/20151201_232137.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOdva_PefFq69NQyVkdACL0VVb8_mAVJipD3SDqX1BHP3f1j7hZFUKPBOQE3GxPs_L8w7Qu-lPHF1diWBnQzmH5HCqBW0RQOMUUG8lrmDCiUZ4x_BStw5EXStu9GzYeDTBUSl_ZCE5XUmT/s320/20151201_232137.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I really like the color of this nude polish, but I really can't get behind the formula. It's really streaky and difficult to make both opaque and smooth. Otherwise, I'm really pleased with how this design turned out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
This manicure is for the 25th week of the /r/RedditLaqueristas 52-week challenge. I can't believe we are almost halfway through! The theme for this week was "Black and White". I was somewhat inspired by this <a href="http://i.imgur.com/bRhV7nt.jpg" target="_blank">post</a> from awhile ago that I had saved as inspiration. I really like how this design came out, and I think I will return to it in the future.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>For this manicure, I used:<br />
Base Coat: Zoya Anchor<br />
Polishes: Sephora - Sugar Coated<br />
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White<br />
Zoya - Willa<br />
Tools: Small Detail Brush<br />
Top Coat: Seche Vite<br />

I started with two coats of the translucent pinkish Sephora polish. I have a set of Sephora polishes and I never use them, so I figured I would give this one a chance. Unfortunately, it came out pretty streaky, and I don't think more coats would have helped. It was acceptable as a base for this design, but I wouldn't wear it on its own.<br />
<br />
Next, I used the detail brush with either the white Sinful Colors polish or the black Zoya polish to first outline my nail, then draw one line at a time to make some abstract shapes. I tried to make each nail unique by starting in a different corner of my nail each time. Sinful Colors - Snow Me White worked really well for this application since it is pretty thick. I was disappointed in Zoya - Willa though because it was really too thin to make opaque lines, and I found myself trying to optimize the amount of polish on my brush. I would recommend a different, thicker black polish for freehand lines.<br />

I imaging acrylic paint might work very well for this design and allow for thinner lines and smaller shapes, but I like the challenge of working with just nail polish. Overall, I am pleased with how my nails came out, and I like how the pattern works well with my short nails without accentuating the lack of length, which can often happen with a more organized pattern.Katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12544512330704054607noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6945453444464364455.post-50275189317160117732015-11-15T00:19:00.002-05:002015-11-15T00:19:34.099-05:00Fall Colored Triangles<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I can't believe it's been since Halloween since I last did some nail art! I wanted to take advantage of the last of the autumn season to use some fall colors in this manicure for the 24th week of the /r/RedditLaquerisas 52 Week challenge. This week's challenge is "Symbols", and I've always been partial to triangles. I have included a picture tutorial as well for anyone who wants to recreate it.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Here is what I used for this manicure:<br />
Base Coat: Seche Clear<br />
Polishes: Sally Hansen Insta Dri - Go for Gold<br />
L'Oreal - Caught Red-Handed<br />
Shany Cosmetics Famous Colors Nail Art Set - 25<br />
Tools: Striping Tape<br />
Top Coat: Seche Vite<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcPe8RFm0vB5Fnp6ARuow_xGKdBdP_o0M4o5krVbswMSGNMoS4rzZqLNVhUBLXOVnb51kx7tvKhl0EibMLzC1LWAgOymn0EhKhbxK6BZMk2fdNktA0Gy1rI5UxW5UmokFlBJRLSouNtpum/s1600/triangle+tutorial.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcPe8RFm0vB5Fnp6ARuow_xGKdBdP_o0M4o5krVbswMSGNMoS4rzZqLNVhUBLXOVnb51kx7tvKhl0EibMLzC1LWAgOymn0EhKhbxK6BZMk2fdNktA0Gy1rI5UxW5UmokFlBJRLSouNtpum/s320/triangle+tutorial.png" width="209" /></a></div>
<br />
1. Started out by picking out your colors. I picked some nice fall colors - a gold, red, and orange.<br />
2. Apply two coats of your base polish. For me, this was the gold Sally Hansen polish.<br />
3. After completely dry, or after a coat of Seche Vite to speed things along, use two pieces of striping tape to section off a triangle area at the base of the nail. Fill in the area with the red polish.<br />
4. Before the polish is dry, peel off the tape.<br />
5. After completely dry, use two more pieces of striping tape to section off a smaller triangle within the first one. Fill in the area with the orange polish.<br />
6. Before the polish is dry, peel off the tape. Finish with top coat of your choice.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9JTljDQq3eSUg0feq-gBupdbjvDF2vuLu9wP2B4qSOdTNKLVBnnx_oh5Ziyk-KCEwOHdwrC5j7IQ9eyHqVNk8q7qK8Z5D0cXFsIMUbfJPYlEoRkzqpnjN_QoFrCci9nOg42H8C9Sps2Cz/s1600/20151114_114736.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9JTljDQq3eSUg0feq-gBupdbjvDF2vuLu9wP2B4qSOdTNKLVBnnx_oh5Ziyk-KCEwOHdwrC5j7IQ9eyHqVNk8q7qK8Z5D0cXFsIMUbfJPYlEoRkzqpnjN_QoFrCci9nOg42H8C9Sps2Cz/s320/20151114_114736.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The orange did't turn out as opaque as I wanted, but overall, I am really pleased with this manicure. It took an absurdly long time to cut all of the striping tape and place it nicely though. I passed the time by watching one of my favorite movies, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, so not a total loss of a Friday night!Katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12544512330704054607noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6945453444464364455.post-71407350066407067212015-11-01T22:07:00.001-05:002015-11-01T22:07:10.956-05:00Jack-o'-lantern Nails for Halloween<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I had some low-key festivities and also had fun dressing up my nails. In fact, these nails also fit in with the 22nd week of the /r/RedditLaqueristas 52 week challenge, so it worked out perfectly. The little Jack-o'-lanterns turned out really cute!<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Here is what I used for this manicure:<br />
Base Coat: Orly Bonder<br />
Polishes: Sephora by OPI - If You've Got It, Haunt It<br />
Orly - Old School Orange<br />
Orly - unknown green<br />
Zoya - Willa<br />
Tools: Small detail brush<br />
Top Coat: Seche Vite<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMMxPzCak6fPMo3RwhQq9lwJ_lkTOBrVcg86HadWWaV3cvyW8YQjDr9GP2I2sgTepoeZm5EzlmpkB2TsuxZx2YZj2139qCVFZZsqzEobWN0Ev2rUQs1c7yzyeVLqQ8oMwu69lSVZ6VGnix/s1600/20151101_104621.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMMxPzCak6fPMo3RwhQq9lwJ_lkTOBrVcg86HadWWaV3cvyW8YQjDr9GP2I2sgTepoeZm5EzlmpkB2TsuxZx2YZj2139qCVFZZsqzEobWN0Ev2rUQs1c7yzyeVLqQ8oMwu69lSVZ6VGnix/s320/20151101_104621.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I started out this manicure with two coats of the appropriately named Sephora by OPI glitter. I really like the flecks of colored and white glitter in with the black base. Using a small detail brush, I applied the orange Orly polish thickly to make an opaque pumpkin shape on my thumb and ring fingers. Then, I used the same small brush (cleaned) to add the stem, in the green Orly polish, and the features, in the black Zoya polish.<br />

These are definitely happy and cute Jack-o'-lanterns rather than scary ones! I am proud of how nicely both hands came out. This review is for the Birchbox from October 2015. Birchbox is a very popular subscription box. It is $10/month for 4-5 beauty and lifestyle samples, which are personalized based on a quiz you take. It also has a great rewards points system. It is the only monthly subscription box that I still have, because I have found it to be especially worth it for the samples and the additional full-sized products I can get with my reward points.<br />

Notes: This highlighter is very sheer, but super glittery. I don't think I would wear it on a daily basis, but it might be nice for going out. It also has a fairly strong perfume-y smell, which could be good or bad depending on your scent preferences and skin sensitivity.</div>

This was a pretty solid box overall. The total value is $32.61 and I plan on using all but one of the items. Also, I will get 60 Birchbox points for reviewing all of the samples, which is worth $6 in the store. It's a pretty amazing deal that is hard to pass up!</div>

This manicure was for the 21st week of the /r/RedditLaqueristas 52 week challenge. The theme for this week is "Gray", which is definitely fitting for this time of year. I chose to do some freehand stripes that remind me of a cozy sweater.</div>

<br />
<br />
I started with two coats of The Color Workshop polish to make an opaque base. Then, I used a small striping brush to freehand stripes using the lighter slate Sinful Colors polish and the darker gray sparkly Zoya polish. I sealed everything with a coat of Seche Vite and once it was dry, applied the matte top coat. I'm a sucker for matte grays!<br />

<br />
I did these nails for the 19th week of the /r/RedditLaqueristas 52-week challenge. The theme was "Autumn Nails", so I went with some fall inspired colors to make a simple design. I was at a scientific conference this week, so I couldn't do anything too crazy unfortunately, but I think these turned out looking very classy.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>To complete this manicure, I used:<br />
Base Coat: Zoya Anchor<br />
Polishes: China Glaze - Below Deck<br />
Butter London - Marbs<br />
Tools: Striping Tape<br />
Top Coat: Seche Vite<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj5diTTy8ab83MkjlYgW-zOuYJicxp5LKtLo1t3Th2a4trVfOEcHnOoCjiTIPPQ-SSCSKsyVqqXHKnrPnqxTkVqK7xYVn7icDe58yjrvID6HvhSuesHbCScvLd8QwsjsecVvoPO90lBHQM/s1600/20151011_121055.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj5diTTy8ab83MkjlYgW-zOuYJicxp5LKtLo1t3Th2a4trVfOEcHnOoCjiTIPPQ-SSCSKsyVqqXHKnrPnqxTkVqK7xYVn7icDe58yjrvID6HvhSuesHbCScvLd8QwsjsecVvoPO90lBHQM/s320/20151011_121055.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I started with two coats of the taupe China Glaze polish over the base coat. I then outlined the wide center stripes with striping tape and filled in between them with a coat of the gold Butter London polish, a little thicker than usual to completely cover the taupe with only one coat. I removed the striping tape before the polish had time to dry. Then, I sealed everything in with top coat.<br />
<br />
Gold is definitely my favorite polish color, and I like spanning the range from yellowy gold to coppery gold with different level of sparkle/shimmer. This gold is definitely gorgeous and I look forward to using it more often.<br />

<br />
These nails were done for the 18th week of the /r/RedditLaqueristas challenge, in which the theme was "Half Moon/Ruffian Design". I much prefer ruffian manicures over half moon manicures on myself because I feel they better compliment my short nails. I chose some darker colors to go with the gloomy weather from the week, but with some glitter to keep it exciting.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Here is what I used for this manicure:<br />
Base Coat: Orly Bonder<br />
Polishes: Zoya - Willa<br />
Orly FX - Aqua Pixel<br />
Top Coat: Seche Vite<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This manicure was very straight-forward. I started with two coats of the black Zoya polish to make a nice opaque base. Then, I applied a coat of the Orly teal texture polish, leaving the bottom and parts of the sides showing through on each nail. Textured polish distracts me really easily, so I covered everything with a layer of Seche Vite. The Orly FX polish has a very matte, rough looking texture, which shows off the chunky glitter a little better, while the top coat makes it glisten and have a smoother appearance.Katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12544512330704054607noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6945453444464364455.post-30872255311452641842015-09-30T17:00:00.000-04:002015-09-30T17:00:01.973-04:00Birchbox September 2015<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This review is for the Birchbox from September 2015.

Value: $0.71<br />
Rating: 3/5<br />
Notes: These eye shadows looked like really nice shades for fall/winter, but the silvery shadow is so pulverized that I am not sure if it can be repaired. I did receive 50 Birchbox points as compensation, so I'm not super broken up about it (haha).<br />

<a href="https://trestique.com/products/concealer-crayon" target="_blank">treStiQue Correct & Cover Concealer Caryon</a><br />
Value: $26<br />
Rating: 4/5<br />
Notes: Even though this says "mini", it looks to be the same size as the full-sized product. It seems like a nice formula for under-eye concealing, but I really wish I had gotten "porcelain" instead of "bisque". Birchbox is usually so good about matching shades. It might work well for under my BB cream or for the summer though!<br />
<br />
This box was generally a success. It has amazing value, and though I normally wouldn't pick some of these products for myself, there was only one complete miss. Plus, with the 50 bonus points to make up for the broken eyeshadow, this was essentially a free box. Birchbox definitely knows how to keep me as a customer.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
Wow, it has been awhile! I am hoping to get back into keeping up with my nail art blog, though it's getting pretty hard with all of the stuff I am working on right now. These nails were done for the 17th week of the /r/RedditLaqueristas 52 week challenge, which was "Pink and/or Purple". I wanted to keep it pretty simple since I had a business casual event to attend while wearing these.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a>I created this manicure using:<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Base Coat: Orly Bonder</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Polishes: L'Oreal - Lilac Coolers</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Tools: Konad Stamping Kit</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Pueen Stamping Plate #27 from Set 24E</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Top Coat: Seche Vite</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The L'Oreal jelly polished required quite a few coats to become even a little bit opaque, so I started with three coats. Then, I stamped using the white Sinful Colors polish and topped it with another coat of Lilac Coolers to mute the white color a bit. I sealed everything in with Seche Vite.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I will make another post coming up to fill in on some of the nail art I have done in the past month or so, and hopefully I will keep up with the challenge and nail art in general in the coming weeks!</div>

<br />
So, I missed a couple weeks of the RedditLaqueristas 52 week challenge, but I am hoping to get back on schedule now! This week's theme is "Rainbow Colors". I wanted to follow the theme subtly instead of going all out, so I did rainbow dots on a shiny silver background.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Here is what I used to do this manicure:<br />
Base Coat: Orly Bonder<br />
Polishes: H&M - Silver<br />
Ruffian - Ruffian Red<br />
Zoya - Paz<br />
OPI - I Just Can't Cope-acabana<br />
Orly - Unknown Green<br />
Orly - Snowcone<br />
Wet 'n' Wild - On a Trip<br />
Tools: Medium Dotting Tool<br />
Top Coat: Seche Vite<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg4YsozZGdkldxR0uBpUiNJf1dqR5tOPbarLD9ZFrVaIyatwxKwkvSUR3ES2unyF1JgZRQERTpOPQib9unLHcT3dYlpBTP2lQgOWveCx0LtCLV_Pfhn46eJMPbsxmU5-Rq69pDMDK-cuRZ/s1600/20150707_133836.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg4YsozZGdkldxR0uBpUiNJf1dqR5tOPbarLD9ZFrVaIyatwxKwkvSUR3ES2unyF1JgZRQERTpOPQib9unLHcT3dYlpBTP2lQgOWveCx0LtCLV_Pfhn46eJMPbsxmU5-Rq69pDMDK-cuRZ/s320/20150707_133836.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I started with two coats of the silver H&M polish to get an opaque base. Then, I started with the yellow OPI polish and placed a dot in the lower corner of each nail. I worked along the bottom of each nail from there with the orange and red polishes. I finished off by working up the side of each nail with the green, blue, and purple polishes. I do wish my nails were a little longer so that I wouldn't have had to curve around the top of each nail with the purple dot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I really like the contrast between the metallic silver and the bright rainbow dots. It's a unique and subtle way to follow the challenge. I'm looking forward to getting back into doing more nail art and following the rest of the challenge!Katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12544512330704054607noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6945453444464364455.post-48033445115390675542015-07-07T19:04:00.000-04:002015-07-07T19:04:05.419-04:00Birchbox June 2015<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />This review is for the Birchbox from June 2015. Birchbox is a very popular subscription box. It is $10/month for 4-5 beauty and lifestyle samples, which are personalized based on a quiz you take. It also has a great rewards points system. It is the only monthly subscription box that I still have, because I have found it to be especially worth it for the samples and the additional full-sized products I can get with my reward points.<br /><a name='more'></a><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
Value: $0.83</div>
<div>
Rating: 5/5</div>
<div>
Notes: This is a bonus item this month, and it's actually my favorite item in the box! I've been using this ponytail holder for almost a month now and it hasn't stretched out, which is my biggest annoyance. They are a little expensive for hair ties, so I probably won't buy them myself, but it's a nice bonus!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Overall, this box was alright. Definitely not one of my favorites in terms of products, but the value was decent at $15.72. Also, it was great to get a bonus item to review for extra points to put toward purchasing a product later.</div>

Another quick post...These nails were for the 3rd week of the Reddit Laqueristas challenge, where the theme was "Saran Wrap Nails". These designs are pretty easy to do, but always turn out looking unique. I picked out this color combo because I wanted to use my new orange nail polish (Zoya Paz), and I thought yellow would make a warm and bright combination.Katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12544512330704054607noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6945453444464364455.post-48159162385801410562015-06-29T22:01:00.001-04:002015-06-29T22:01:17.365-04:00Matte Layered Stamping<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Only a quick post because I am very behind! These nails were for Week #2 for the Reddit Laqueristas 52 week challenge. Week #2 started 6/8 and the theme was "Matte Designs", so I tried out some layered stamping with matte top coat. I used 6 different stamp designs of leaves, flowers, and butterflies with 6 different colors on a turquoise base. They were a nice summery design!Katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12544512330704054607noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6945453444464364455.post-72619536086024346932015-06-29T19:40:00.002-04:002015-06-29T19:40:49.156-04:00Influenster: Weight Watchers Ice Cream Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

As an <a href="https://www.influenster.com/" target="_blank">Influenster </a>blogger, I am eligible to receive products free to review. For my second Influenster product to review, I got two coupons for free Weight Watchers Ice Cream of my choice. One of the ice creams I picked out were the Giant Chocolate Fudge bars. There are only 6 bars in this package, but they are each a good size and very filling. They are surprisingly flavorful and rich for a "healthy" ice cream choice. I will probably buy these for myself in the future. The second ice creams I chose were the Dark Chocolate Raspberry bars. These are about half the size of the fudge bars, and understandably, there are twice as many in the package. The chocolate coating is thin, but very tasty, and the raspberry is refreshing. I didn't like these as much as the fudge bars because they left me wanting more, but for someone watching their weight, it's a nice little treat. I would give the Giant Chocolate Fudge bars 5/5 start and the Dark Chocolate Raspberry bars 4/5 stars.<br />
<br />
Note: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.Katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12544512330704054607noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6945453444464364455.post-36987787899634305922015-06-11T18:00:00.000-04:002015-06-11T18:00:05.372-04:00Shiny Purple with Striped Tips<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div>
So, I decided to take part in yet another nail art challenge! This one was set up by subscribers to the <a href="http://reddit.com/r/RedditLaqueristas" target="_blank">/r/RedditLaqueristas</a> sub-reddit, and it's a different theme for each week. I think this challenge is more my speed! The theme for the first week starting 6/1/2015 was "striping tape". To make this even more interesting, I have been coming up with the designs and having my boyfriend pick out the colors to use. <a name='more'></a>For this manicure, I used:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Base Coat: Zoya Anchor</div>
<div>
Polishes: Shany Cosmetics Famous Colors Nail Art Set - 28</div>
<div>
Orly - Old School Orange</div>
<div>
Tools: Striping Tape</div>
<div>
Top Coat: Zoya Armor</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This manicure was pretty straight-forward, but a little time-consuming with the tape placement. I started with two coats of Old School Orange to get an opaque base. Then, I used four pieces of striping tape on each nail to make the criss-cross design. I applied a generous coat of the shiny purple Shany Cosmetics polish and removed the tape before it started to dry.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The color combination isn't one I would pick out myself, but it's got a nice complementary colors thing going on. I also really like how the design came out and will probably repeat it sometime with different colors. A solid start to this year-long challenge!</div>
<div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOTkBHi9uGLdNnbA4OZcPXRpIz2yFxG3lz2Ij5JhLDtpRG5hU6AjCfhLijLrOr-1vkgZjeMDyPIe6RHXCrOrek3JL28nZBjsEmhHY8DB7SXBNLZWMRkgC3IDJox8I4zKiiuoajfBhvwmWA/s1600/20150525_212615.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOTkBHi9uGLdNnbA4OZcPXRpIz2yFxG3lz2Ij5JhLDtpRG5hU6AjCfhLijLrOr-1vkgZjeMDyPIe6RHXCrOrek3JL28nZBjsEmhHY8DB7SXBNLZWMRkgC3IDJox8I4zKiiuoajfBhvwmWA/s320/20150525_212615.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div>
First, I must apologize for the poor quality photos - my lighting box is currently in disrepair and I am working on making a better one. Anyway, since I postponed my rock climbing membership for the whole month of May, knowing I would be on vacation for most of it, I have been enjoying having longer nails! With the extra space, I decided to do a bigger floral design.</div>
<div>
<a name='more'></a>Here is what I used to create this manicure:<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
Base Coat: Zoya Anchor</div>
<div>
Polishes: L'Oreal - Caught Red-Handed</div>
<div>
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White</div>
<div>
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Black Out</div>
<div>
Tools: Medium Nail Art Brush</div>
<div>
Large Dotting Tool</div>
<div>
Top Coat: Zoya Armor</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I started out with two coats of the red L'Oreal polish to make an opaque base. Then, I used the medium nail art brush with the white Sinful Colors polish to make the petals for the flowers. I liked the natural effect of the thinner polish at the center of the petals and thicker at the edges so I didn't try to make it completely opaque. Then, I added a dot in the center of Sally Hansen Black Out with a large dotting tool. I topped it off with a shiny coat of Zoya Armor.<br />
<br />
I think it turned out really cute! Here are a couple more pictures.<br />
<br />

<br />
<div>
As you may have realized by now, I really love Zoya nail polishes. So, when I saw the new <a href="http://www.zoya.com/content/category/Naturel-Satins-Nail-Polish-Collection-Transitional.html" target="_blank">Zoya Naturel Satins Collection</a>, I knew I had to try the formula out. I ordered the color <a href="http://www.zoya.com/content/item/Zoya/Zoya-Nail-Polish-in-Brittany.html" target="_blank">Brittany</a>, which is described as a "rose mauve cream" because I thought it would look nice with my skin tone.</div>
<div>
<a name='more'></a>This swatch is two coats of Zoya Brittany over the Zoya Anchor base coat. The satin formula is supposed to be in between glossy and matte, and it's designed to be worn without a top coat to maintain the finish. These pictures were taken four days after application.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD9KR4kQg7zi_l1mNQNHvjI-IezeUb3-dj8btAdBuG6EtiydpZ3d0qgZFxjECP4cbbx8JA6Y8oPB9wjQg1lvvsKEAn-QiNxQwtLc1JhwczjEsAo6FLsYWZsY-5m1aLwM7RkKmlPSL4TN_M/s1600/20150523_083324.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD9KR4kQg7zi_l1mNQNHvjI-IezeUb3-dj8btAdBuG6EtiydpZ3d0qgZFxjECP4cbbx8JA6Y8oPB9wjQg1lvvsKEAn-QiNxQwtLc1JhwczjEsAo6FLsYWZsY-5m1aLwM7RkKmlPSL4TN_M/s320/20150523_083324.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
I am really pleased with this new formula! It's completely opaque in two coats, the finish is unique, the available colors are gorgeous (I am eyeing <a href="http://www.zoya.com/content/item/Zoya/Zoya-Nail-Polish-in-Tove.html" target="_blank">Tove</a> and <a href="http://www.zoya.com/content/item/Zoya/Zoya-Nail-Polish-in-Sage.html" target="_blank">Sage</a> right now), and it lasts for a good few days with minimal wear. No complaints here! I will be keeping my eye out for Zoya deals so I can grab a few more of these.</div>
<div>

In the rush before leaving for my trip, I didn't have time to do any complicated nail art, so I decided to try out these nail wraps I had lying around. They are <a href="http://www.sephora.com/asap-3d-nail-appliques-P383164" target="_blank">Sephora Formula X brand</a> and cost $7 on sale, but I found them at TJ Maxx for only $1. I am not usually a fan of animal print, but I am willing to try it out for that price!</div>
<div>
<a name='more'></a>I applied the nail wraps as instructed: on a clean nail with no base or top coat, filing off the extra with the included nail file. The set comes with 18 wraps of varying sizes so you can pick out the size that works best for each nail. Unfortunately, that is only enough to do all your nails once with a weird number left. Maybe the extras could be used for accent nails for another manicure, though the instructions do say that you should use up the wraps pretty quickly after opening.</div>

<br /></div>
<div>
The variety of widths was adequate for my nail needs and the length was more than enough. I could have probably used one wrap to do two nails if I was really careful about it! The only complaint I have about the sizing is that the ends of the wraps are very rounded and my nail beds are on the square side, especially in my thumb, index, and middle finger. You can see in some of my pictures how the wrap doesn't line up well with the base of my nail bed.</div>

In terms of longevity, I can't really complain! I took these picture 5 days after application and you can just start to see some wear at the tips. I removed them shortly after the pictures so I don't know how much longer they would last, but I was impressed. Though, it made removal a little tricky. The gold and brown parts came off really easily with acetone-based polish remover, but the black parts (which were a little raised as well) actually took some light scraping to get off.</div>

<div>
Overall, I would recommend these nail wraps, especially for people who want nail art but don't have the time or skill to do it themselves. They are pretty easy to apply, last a long time, and have a variety of sizes that should fit the average nails. However, they are a little costly at full price, so keep an eye out at your local discount store!</div>

Wow, has it really been over a month since my last post?? Sorry to leave everyone hanging, it's just been a really crazy time! At the beginning of May, I went on a two-week trip around Europe with my boyfriend carrying just a backpack and using Airbnb to stay with locals. So besides just the trip, there was a lot of preparation leading up to that and a lot to catch up on once I got back. I will be updating with nail posts from before my trip and after, so keep your eye out! For more info on what I did while I was gone, read on!</div>

After Munich, we crossed into Switzerland where we visited Zurich. We went to a bunch of museums, walked through the historical center along the Limmat River, and viewed the city from atop Uetliberg Mountain.<br />

It was a whirlwind of a trip, but it was a great intro to Europe for us. We saw so many beautiful things and learned a lot about European history. Now it's back to the grind of everyday life, but always planning the next trip in the back of my mind.Katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12544512330704054607noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6945453444464364455.post-64360272321181914712015-04-20T23:56:00.001-04:002015-04-20T23:56:55.786-04:00Galaxy Nails<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I was watching Interstellar on Friday (which I highly recommend) and it seemed appropriate to put some galaxies on my nails. Galaxy nails are a simple and forgiving design that turn out looking great no matter what. I have also included a picture tutorial to show how I made these nails.</div>

<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here are the supplies I used for this design:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Base Coat: Orly Bonder</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Polishes: Covergirl Glosstinis - Laser Light</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Wet 'n' Wild - On a Trip</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Orly - Snowcone</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Zoya - Dot</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
LA Splash - Baby Octopus</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Tools: Triangular Makeup Sponge</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Top Coat: Zoya Armor</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Unfortunately, I didn't get to take very many pictures because my nails got chipped pretty badly from tying water balloons on Saturday for some outdoor fun. I did get the one nice picture and I made a little tutorial to show how you can replicate this technique.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUWJN8TyWu84sA9Bv4t0KXLkhY7jMREpy15OCvGqDgTL04HOl9chaOB95rCvQriK403PtC-1sPNFWzpEWU5WzxIU8PdP_jplXgTwZChaTRfBhqfn74j18Ea2WJGN3Z0-LYFj9rJ0MZpzsZ/s1600/tutorial.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUWJN8TyWu84sA9Bv4t0KXLkhY7jMREpy15OCvGqDgTL04HOl9chaOB95rCvQriK403PtC-1sPNFWzpEWU5WzxIU8PdP_jplXgTwZChaTRfBhqfn74j18Ea2WJGN3Z0-LYFj9rJ0MZpzsZ/s1600/tutorial.png" height="400" width="203" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. Start with two coats of the base polish - either a black or deep blue. I used the very deep dark blue Covergirl - Laser Light. Allow to dry completely.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Take a small piece of a makeup sponge and apply some purple polish in small regions of the nail.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. Take another piece of a makeup sponge and apply some blue polish on top of the purple polish, letting some of the purple show through. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. With another piece of makeup sponge, apply a light pink color to soften the effect of the blue.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. Go back in with some of the base color and purple color to add definition to the design.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
6. Using a small piece of a makeup sponge, apply just a few pieces of silver glitter to represent the stars. You can also do this with a small dotting tool and white or silver polish.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
7. When completely dry, apply a top coat to make everything nice and shiny.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Like I said, nice and simple! This is a case in which the final product is more than the sum of the individual parts. You can also easily substitute other colors to tweak the final results, like greens and yellows.You can even do the whole thing in pastel shades or metallic shades to mix it up. Chances are that there is a galaxy out there in the universe that looks just like your nails!</div>

The weather has been so beautiful lately that I am still feeling the spring-time colors! My <a href="http://katysnailsandmore.blogspot.com/2014/09/31-day-nail-art-challenge-day-16.html" target="_blank">last geometric pattern</a> was one of my favorite designs and I wanted to replicate it with a different color palette. It's a little more muted than what I usually go for, but at least it doesn't clash with any of my outfits. I've included a picture tutorial for how I achieved this design.</div>
<div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
Here is what I used to make this nail art:</div>
<div>
Base Coat: Zoya Anchor</div>
<div>
Polishes: The Color Workshop - Unknown Color</div>
<div>
Zoya - Rayne</div>
<div>
Pixi - Lime Lustre</div>
<div>
Spellbound - Aura</div>
<div>
Orly - Live Wire</div>
<div>
Tools: Striping Tape</div>
<div>
Top Coat: Zoya Armor</div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I made a quick picture tutorial to explain how to re-create this manicure with any colors!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZN578B2Xw3Q2EZFRdmGUs_cCwEqvOdpjvnmA1OFKOGCN_NTNl10OdtUpkse5cX04i8wMD_X1e-i3qHBvOFnwdmdYsjmhKyVoJHupJOFIbPTnQA_I2_RH2ZUM1fs44iCb825SB2uPxn55n/s1600/tutorial.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZN578B2Xw3Q2EZFRdmGUs_cCwEqvOdpjvnmA1OFKOGCN_NTNl10OdtUpkse5cX04i8wMD_X1e-i3qHBvOFnwdmdYsjmhKyVoJHupJOFIbPTnQA_I2_RH2ZUM1fs44iCb825SB2uPxn55n/s1600/tutorial.png" height="293" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. Start with two coats of the base color, which will be showing in between the geometric shapes. I used an unnamed pearl color by The Color Workshop</div>
<div>
2. Place striping tape to divide the nail into sections however you like. I used two pieces of striping tape to divide into three sections.</div>
<div>
3. Apply a generous layer of your desired colored polish in each section.</div>
<div>
4. Remove the striping tape immediately. Allow the polish to dry completely and top with your favorite top coat.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here are a couple more pictures of the design on my nails.</div>
